{"id":1075264,"date":"2026-07-08T01:37:26","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T01:37:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1075264\/"},"modified":"2026-07-08T01:37:26","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T01:37:26","slug":"nccc-news-salt-on-special-feeling-of-england-shirt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1075264\/","title":{"rendered":"NCCC News : SALT ON &#8216;SPECIAL FEELING&#8217; OF ENGLAND SHIRT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align:start\"><strong>Opening batter Phil Salt described the \u201cvery special\u201d feeling of contributing in an England shirt after leading the Three Lions to their record IT20 victory over India.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny time you put an England shirt on, you want to do well, and you want to be the guy that puts a hand up,\u201d said Salt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s sort of my thinking, where I don\u2019t want to build up too much and I want to do the basics to contribute.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Salt blasted 70 off 44 balls, including seven fours and three sixes, as England posted 201-7, a total they comfortably defended as world champions India were skittled for just 76.<\/p>\n<p>Although the 125-run winning margin fell short of the hosts\u2019 record winning margin in all T20 cricket &#8211; that being the 146 runs they beat South Africa by last summer &#8211; it was still a new largest win over India.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe way we executed our plans was excellent, because it\u2019s not the easiest ground to bowl at, with it being very friendly to left-handers,\u201d added Salt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSix of their top seven are lefties, and I think we did really well to execute.
