{"id":107666,"date":"2025-05-17T00:34:13","date_gmt":"2025-05-17T00:34:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/107666\/"},"modified":"2025-05-17T00:34:13","modified_gmt":"2025-05-17T00:34:13","slug":"knife-found-in-bristol-primary-school-pupils-bag","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/107666\/","title":{"rendered":"Knife found in Bristol primary school pupil&#8217;s bag"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Parents have been informed of the shocking discovery<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1747442053_605_0_AD_16-05-2025_theparkkingswoodJPG.jpg\" alt=\"The Park Primary School, Kingswood.\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>The Park Primary School, Kingswood.(Image: Google Maps)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A knife was found in a pupil&#8217;s bag at a primary school in Bristol yesterday (Thursday, May 15).<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The knife was found at The Park Primary School, on Hollow Road in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/kingswood\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Kingswood<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">An email sent to parents and carers said it was discovered during &#8220;the course of the day&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Head of School, Paul Rowsell, said no child or adult was harmed at any time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The knife, which was in a bag belonging to a pupil in Year 5, was immediately confiscated by staff.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Parents and carers of Year 5 students were notified straight away.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">An email, sent just after 8am this morning, alerted the rest of the school community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The email from Mr Rowsell said: &#8220;I am writing to inform you of an incident that took place yesterday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;During the course of the day, a knife was discovered in the bag of a Year 5 pupil.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;This item was immediately confiscated by staff, and no child or adult was harmed at any time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;The safety and wellbeing of all our pupils is always our highest priority and we acted promptly to ensure everyone remained safe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;I am currently conducting a thorough investigation in line with our safeguarding policies and procedures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;The Year 5 parents were notified yesterday but I wanted to be transparent with you as a school community and let you know that we are taking this very seriously.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The Park Primary School told BristolLive: &#8220;On reports that a child was in possession of a knife in their bag, staff immediately confiscated the item safely.
