{"id":107703,"date":"2025-05-17T00:53:11","date_gmt":"2025-05-17T00:53:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/107703\/"},"modified":"2025-05-17T00:53:11","modified_gmt":"2025-05-17T00:53:11","slug":"qpr-confirm-frey-contract-extension","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/107703\/","title":{"rendered":"QPR confirm Frey contract extension"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>QPR have confirmed they have taken up an option to extend Michael Frey\u2019s contract.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Swiss striker\u2019s deal at Loftus Road was due to expire this summer but an option in it enabled the club to extend it by a year.<\/p>\n<p>West London Sport <a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westlondonsport.com\/qpr\/new-contracts-for-qpr-trio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>recently revealed<\/strong><\/a> that Jonathan Varane had agreed a new contract, the option to extend Frey\u2019s would be taken up and that Paul Smyth has been offered a new deal.<\/p>\n<p>Smyth has another year left on his contract.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Frey, 30, has made 40 appearances and scored 10 goals since his arrival from Belgian club Royal Antwerp in January 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Rangers are in discussions about a potential longer-term deal for him but in the meantime have moved to keep him at the club for at least the coming season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"QPR have confirmed they have taken up an option to extend Michael Frey\u2019s contract.
