Spotted in the UK, Chuck Bass rubbing shoulders with royalty. Gossip Girl\u00a0alum Ed Westwick\u00a0<\/strong>met King Charles<\/strong> this week at the Elephant Family\u2019s \u2018Wonders of the Wild\u2019 event held at Kew Gardens. The actor, who played Chuck Bass on The CW series, took to his Instagram on May 15 to share a photo of himself shaking hands with the King, along with additional photos from the event.<\/p>\n

“Thanks to my wonderful wife @iamamyjackson for introducing me to the @elephantfamily,” Ed wrote in the caption<\/a>. “It\u2019s my second event with you and I love to learn and hear about the continued work you do to protect elephants. An honor to meet @theroyalfamily whose support has been massive to this organization. Well done everyone for such a spectacular evening @kewgardens with @chopard.”<\/p>\n

The royal family’s official Instagram account reacted to the actor’s post, simply commenting with elephant and heart emojis: “\ud83d\udc18\u2764\ufe0f.”<\/p>\n

Ed’s wife Amy Jackson<\/strong>, who is an ambassador for the Elephant Family<\/a>\u2014a charity that is committed to protecting Asia’s wildlife and building a landscape that supports human-wildlife co-existence\u2014also shared pictures from the event, including one of their royal encounter.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Such a special night at Wonders of the Wild with @elephantfamily and @britishasiantrust – two charities very close to my heart. As an ambassador to the Elephant Family, I\u2019m proud to support their incredible work protecting elephants and promoting human-wildlife coexistence, especially across South Asia. We also had the honour of meeting Their Majesties The King and Queen, who are passionate patrons of the charity,” Amy wrote alongside the pictures. “So much love to my @chopard family for supporting the night. @chopardbycaroline discovered the most stunning emerald in Zambia shaped like an elephant which she then turned into the most breathtakingggg jewellery, with proceeds supporting the charities.What a night!”<\/p>\n

The event on May 13, which was also attended by King Charles’ niece, Princess Beatrice<\/strong>, celebrated the work of the Elephant Family and marked the end of the “Big Egg Hunt,” which was a public art trail featuring egg sculptures that were displayed around London. The Elephant Family was established by Queen Camilla’s late brother, Mark Shand<\/strong>, in 2002. According to the royal family’s website, the charity, which the King and Queen are joint presidents of, has since “helped to deliver pioneering projects to protect wildlife, restore habitats and promote coexistence between people and animals” and is now part of the British Asian Trust. \u00a0<\/p>\n
