When Owen Williams began to explain a strange pain in his bottom, he desperately tried to figure out what was wrong \u2013 but after months of being dismissed, he says it ended with his \u2018bum cheek exploding\u2019.<\/p>\n

Owen, a 25-year-old self-employed laborer from Warwickshire<\/a>, has been left bound to his bed after the pain<\/a> in his bum became too much to handle.<\/p>\n

He explained it as \u2018a medical nightmare\u2019 that even \u2018after many many visits to the doctors, A&E, paramedics, SAU\u2019 he was still left without a diagnosis of what was wrong.<\/p>\n

The worker, who has been open about his journey on TikTok<\/a> and on his GoFundMe<\/a> page, said doctors initially thought he was suffering from a fissure or haemorrhoids, but he knew something wasn\u2019t right.<\/p>\n

But it wasn\u2019t until the debilitating explosion that all would be revealed.<\/p>\n

Per the NHS<\/a>, an anal fissure is \u2018a small tear in your anus that causes pain when you poo\u2019 that typically clears up on its own.<\/p>\n

As for haemorrhoids, aka piles, these are lumps that are on or around the anus that can be painful and bleed \u2013 but also get better on their own.<\/p>\n

However, Owen didn\u2019t have either of those. In fact, what he had was much more serious \u2013 an abscess on his \u2018left bum cheek\u2019 that went undetected.<\/p>\n

One day, Owen revealed that he began to feel like he \u2018really\u2019 needed to use the bathroom and attempted to go \u2018standing up\u2019 as the his pain had been worsening.<\/p>\n

He explained that this is the moment \u2018it happened\u2019.<\/p>\n

It exploded and required surgery due to it having been left for months without treatment.<\/p>\n

Calling what was left a \u2018cavity\u2019, Owen explained, which requires a significant amount of recovery time as it needs to be packed and drained and redressed and left open.<\/p>\n

On his GoFund me, Owen explained he was told to set up a crowdfunding page to help with his finances during the time he\u2019s unable to work, writing: \u201cWhile recovering I shared my story onto TikTok and have received some amazing support on the and have had a few people asked me to do a GoFundMe to try and help with my bills while I recover. I do not expect anyone to donate but absolutely anything will help and I\u2019ll appreciate absolutely anything, thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added of his ordeal: \u201cAfter months of agony and stress and pain I finally had my surgery and I\u2019m just trying to make ends meat while I recover things have not been easy but we do what we can to see the positive in things all I want to do is to be able to get on with my life go on holidays<\/a> see the world and look forward to the next chapter of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
