Six people, including three children, have been rushed to hospital following a “serious” crash on the M8 in Lanarkshire<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were alerted to the scene near Chapelhall at around 2am on Saturday, July 11, after the crash involving a Mercedes Vito mini van and an HGV.<\/p>\n

The condition of the six people, who were all in the mini van, has not been confirmed. The driver of the HGV was not injured.<\/p>\n

The westbound carriageway was closed until around 7.30am as officers carried out their investigations into the crash. Now, police<\/a> are appealing for any witnesses to get in touch.<\/p>\n

Sergeant Elaine Scott said: \u201cI would ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe road re-opened around 7.30am, same date. I want to thank members of the public for their patience while we investigated this serious crash.<\/p>\n
