Schools across Greater Manchester have been evaluated by a government watchdog in the past two weeks \u2013 and some have received glowing reviews. Ofsted\u2019s \u2018new look\u2019 report cards have moved away from one-word summaries like \u2018good\u2019, \u2018outstanding\u2019, or \u2018requires improvement\u2019.<\/p>\n
Instead inspectors give a descriptive assessment aimed at guardians that \u2018gives a clearer picture of what\u2019s working well and where the next steps for improvement are\u2019. The report cards show colour-coded grades for different areas like \u2018attendance and behaviour\u2019, \u2018achievement\u2019, \u2018personal development and well-being\u2019, and \u2018inclusion\u2019.<\/p>\n
These areas on a new scale of \u2018exceptional\u2019, \u2018strong standard\u2019, \u2018expected standard\u2019, \u2018needs attention\u2019 and \u2018urgent improvement\u2019.<\/p>\n
Ofsted also states whether safeguarding responsibilities are \u2018met\u2019 or \u2018not met\u2019.<\/p>\n
