Staff say it is just the beginning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">A $9.99 USB-C cord from the store&#8217;s in-house Heyday brand is now ringing up at $17.99, according to a self-identified employee on Reddit.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;It&#8217;s happening,&#8217; the worker wrote, sharing a photo of the price tag update. &#8216;All of Heyday is going up.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The spike \u2014 a 56 percent increase \u2014 is being blamed on the latest wave of tariffs linked to former President Donald Trump&#8217;s trade policies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Target&#8217;s price rises come after Walmart on Thursday confirmed that it is raising prices this month as a direct result of tariffs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The Trump administration framed tariffs as a way to\u00a0<a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/yourmoney\/article-14625647\/us-companies-profiting-donald-trump-tariffs.html\" rel=\"noopener\">boost a sleepy domestic manufacturing industry<\/a> by making foreign goods more expensive.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">It is a shift from the traditional use of tariffs to protect already-growing industries.
