Kaiya Fraser had a rip in his breeches and a sore leg afterwards yet still managed to produce a winning ride on his own mount Dr Rascal\"Kaiya<\/p>\n

A jockey was bitten on the leg by a loose horse in a \u2018crazy\u2019 incident before a race at Ascot on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Kaiya Fraser was riding Dr Rascal, a first time out winner for Oliver Cole who was having his second start in a novice race for two-year-olds.<\/p>\n

The pair were waiting to be loaded when another runner, Mr Twig, escaped the handlers after becoming unruly in the stalls and took a dislike to Fraser. Mr Twig lunged at Fraser on Dr Rascal and sunk his teeth into his leg, causing the jockey to fall off as Dr Rascal tried to get out of the way.<\/p>\n

While Mr Twig was withdrawn, Fraser was checked by medics and deemend fit enough to remount Dr Rascal, once he had been caught, and then steer 4-1 chance Dr Rascal to a second career success.<\/p>\n

\u201cMichael Bell\u2019s horse (Mr Twig) was messing about in the stalls and they\u2019ve pulled him out, but as they\u2019ve pulled him out of the gates he\u2019s got loose and run around and then out of nowhere grabbed a hold of my thigh,\u201d Fraser said on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe didn\u2019t give me a chance and my horse got a bit nervous after that and kind of ran off and he got loose.<\/p>\n

\u201cMichael Bell\u2019s horse gave me a sore leg and it\u2019s still a bit sore now. It was a crazy couple of minutes but luckily we were able to get back in the stalls and go and win the race.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking immediately after the race, he said: \u201cHe actually grabbed a good bit of my thigh. He bit me, pulled me off the horse. Mr Bell owes me another pair of breeches.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fraser enjoyed a red-letter weekend in Berkshire, with a win on Friday meaning he was successful on three of his four mounts at the track over the course of two days.<\/p>\n

It continues a fine run for the young rider who has notched 32 winners this term and is making the most of his budding relationships with key allies in the training ranks.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s always special to ride a winner at Ascot, let alone two and on a Saturday as well,\u201d continued Fraser.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was delighted but I was going into the weekend knowing I had some great chances and luckily I\u2019ve had a great weekend and everyone is happy. I\u2019ve got to ride some nice horses over the last few days.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on: \u201cIt\u2019s going well this season and I\u2019ve got a lot of great connections thanks to my agent James Forrest and I\u2019m getting put up on some nice horses.<\/p>\n
