The Trafford Centre’s newest store has opened – and it has brought with it a major first for the shopping complex. Lululemon has unveiled its new fitness megastore in the mall, at its new location on Lower Regent Crescent.<\/p>\n

And to celebrate the grand opening, the leisurewear brand has also launched its own pop up padel court in collaboration with the shopping centre. It means for the first time fans of the burgeoning sport will be able to play it at the Trafford<\/a> Centre.<\/p>\n

The pop-up padel court has been set up outside The Great Hall, in the area close to the former Orangery. Players can book in for one-hour sessions on the court for \u00a336.<\/p>\n

Bosses say they’re “always looking for new ways to bring exciting experiences to Trafford Centre<\/a>” with the launch of the new padel court.<\/p>\n

The lululemon x Trafford Centre padel court will now be open every day from 10am to 10pm up until Thursday, July 23. And it’s opened just at the right time with the ongoing sunny weather.<\/p>\n

A statement on the launch from the Trafford Centre said: “Whether you’re a seasoned player or picking up a racket for the very first time, lululemon’s pop-up court offers the perfect opportunity to discover why padel has become the UK’s fastest-growing sport this summer.<\/p>\n

“Fast-paced, easy to learn and designed for doubles, it’s a game that’s all about getting active, having fun and spending time with friends.”<\/p>\n

Launching alongside lululemon’s new Trafford Centre flagship, the limited-time court invites visitors to swap the shopping bags for a racket and experience something new.<\/p>\n

The statement added: “Whether you’re planning a friendly match, a family outing or a post-work game with colleagues, the pop-up is designed to bring people together through movement and community.”<\/p>\n

Simon Layton, Centre Director at Trafford Centre, said: “We’re always looking for new ways to bring exciting experiences to Trafford Centre, and this partnership with lululemon does exactly that.<\/p>\n

“Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world and has built an incredible following across Greater Manchester.<\/p>\n

“Bringing a premium court to the heart of our destination gives visitors the opportunity to experience this sport in a fun, accessible way while celebrating the opening of lululemon’s fantastic new flagship store.”<\/p>\n

Players can book one-hour sessions through the Playtomic app, costing \u00a336 per session. Guests are encouraged to arrive ten minutes before their booking to check in ahead of play. Sessions are now booking up to and including July 23.<\/p>\n

The new lululemon store comes amid a boom in the fitness retail world in recent years. The Trafford Centre is now home to the world’s biggest JD Sports, while a host of other big name sports and leisure stores have expanded their offering, including the recent opening of a big new Footasylum. Meanwhile hip Canadian leisurewear brand Garage will also open a new store later in the summer.<\/p>\n

It’s also a busy time for the shopping mall as it gears up for the school summer holidays. From Saturday, July 18, the ever popular Summer Fair will return<\/a> outside the Great Hall.<\/p>\n

The \u00a32.75 fair boasts a splash pool and a host of fairground rides and will open from 12noon to 8pm daily across the school summer holidays until the end of August.<\/p>\n

The launch of the summer fair coincides with another biggie – the arrival of viral jacket potato truck SpudBros<\/a> for a seasonal pop up too.<\/p>\n
