There is a tough road ahead for Betsy Swain<\/a> (Sydney Martin<\/a>) in Coronation Street<\/a> as she\u2019s forced to adjust to the reality of her new life.<\/p>\n It\u2019s been a tough few years for Betsy. She\u2019s faced more trauma than most adults do in a lifetime.<\/p>\n First, her mum was killed on the job as a police officer. Or so she thought, because Becky Swain<\/a> came barrelling back into her life and caused heartache for the whole family<\/a> by kidnapping Carla Connor-Swain (Alison King<\/a>) and manipulating Lisa Connor-Swain<\/a> (Vicky Myers<\/a>).<\/p>\n Before that, Betsy was accidentally shot<\/a> by Lisa during Rob Donovan\u2019s prison escape, and witnessed the death of boyfriend Mason Radcliffe after he was stabbed<\/a>.<\/p>\n Unfortunately, things aren\u2019t set to get much better for Betsy, as her plans to move to London to study fashion design are well and truly desecrated.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\tAsk Metro<\/p>\n Use AI to go deeper into the stories you care about \u2013 powered by Metro and trusted publications.<\/p>\n Betsy is set to be hospitalised<\/a> in upcoming scenes after collapsing at home, and it is clear that her condition is serious. Serious enough that an ambulance is called to whisk her away from the street.<\/p>\n \t\t As the week goes on, Dylan Wilson<\/a> (Liam McCheyne<\/a>) comes under fire as Lisa accuses him of causing Betsy\u2019s collapse, and even reports him to the police.<\/p>\n After being arrested, Dylan blames Brody for Betsy\u2019s condition.<\/p>\n Betsy is horrified when she learns what her mum has done, but how will she react to Dylan\u2019s accusations?<\/p>\n Next week, Dylan is in turmoil as Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) confronts him for spreading lies about him.<\/p>\n Furious, he tells Dylan that he would have no trouble pressing charges against him if he were in Betsy\u2019s shoes.<\/p>\n \t\t Later, Dylan is left questioning his part in what happened to Betsy after Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) delivers some home truths.<\/p>\n The next day, Dylan pays Betsy a visit and tells her that he accepts responsibility for what happened, and that he\u2019s deeply sorry.<\/p>\n However, they are soon interrupted by the arrival of a police officer wanting to take Betsy\u2019s statement, so terrified Dylan makes himself scarce.<\/p>\n What will Betsy tell the officer?<\/p>\n Dylan isn\u2019t the only one in turmoil, as Betsy is forced to adjust to a new way of life.<\/p>\n \t\t It becomes clear that Betsy is struggling to cope with her condition when Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) finds her struggling to complete her physio exercises.<\/p>\n Things only get worse when Betsy admits that she needs to use the bathroom, but she needs help getting there.<\/p>\n As Lauren escorts her, Betsy feels utterly humiliated.<\/p>\n Will things get easier for poor Betsy?<\/p>\n Arrow Arrow Arrow![\"Ryan](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/SEI_303737010-c247.jpg\")
