Major reforms to the special educational needs and disabilities<\/a> (SEND) system face being \u201cderailed\u201d by NHS staff redundancies, The i Paper can reveal.<\/p>\n

Wide-scale NHS reorganisation, which is set to see the loss of 18,000 admin and managerial jobs, has fallen \u201cdisproportionately on SEND teams\u201d, according to a new report by the Institute for Government (IfG).<\/p>\n

The report, shared exclusively with The i Paper, reveals that uncertainty over plans to fold NHS England into the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has led to SEND redundancies at a time when services are already stretched. <\/p>\n
