target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Glasgow;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Glasgow<\/a> for an Orange Walk through to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe) Day.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Orange Order marched on the city&#8217;s streets this morning, bringing traffic to a standstill and drawing crowds.<\/p>\n<p>Marching bands were part of the parade (Image: Gordon Terris\/NQ)<\/p>\n<p>Hundreds turned out (Image: Gordon Terris\/NQ) Lodge members from across Glasgow assembled at Wishart Street, near Glasgow Cathedral, before travelling down High Street at 10am.<\/p>\n<p>The parade then passed\u00a0along George Street, Montrose Street, Cochrane Street, St Vincent Street and\u00a0Renfield Street before crossing over the River They\u00a0then travelled\u00a0along\u00a0Paisley\u00a0Road,\u00a0Paisley\u00a0Road West, Harvie Street, and Brand Street before ending in Lorne Street.<\/p>\n<p>The event came ahead of an unsanctioned party by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldscotland.com\/topics\/celtic-fc\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Celtic;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Celtic<\/a> supporters expected in he city&#8217;s Trongate area.<\/p>\n<p>The unofficial title party has been planned by fans to celebrate the club lifting the SPFL trophy, marking 55 domestic league titles.<\/p>\n<p>Police made 19 arrests as people gathered to celebrate Celtic\u2019s title win in May last year, and four officers were injured during disorder at the impromptu gathering at Glasgow on Saturday with large crowds expected to gather.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d like to reassure the public we are working closely with Glasgow City Council to minimise disruption to the wider community and a proportionate policing plan is in place, with a focus on public safety.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe respect the right to public assembly, however it is everyone\u2019s responsibility to ensure their behaviour does not negatively impact businesses or those looking to enjoy our city.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease do not gather in large groups and be respectful of those around
