{"id":1092898,"date":"2026-07-16T13:42:24","date_gmt":"2026-07-16T13:42:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1092898\/"},"modified":"2026-07-16T13:42:24","modified_gmt":"2026-07-16T13:42:24","slug":"welsh-revenue-authority-collects-almost-400-million-in-tax-revenue-for-wales-welsh-government","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1092898\/","title":{"rendered":"Welsh Revenue Authority collects almost \u00a3400 million in tax revenue for Wales | Welsh Government"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Welsh Revenue Authority (WRA), Wales&#8217; tax authority, yesterday (15 July 2026) announced that it collected nearly \u00a3400 million in tax revenue for Wales in the last financial year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Publishing its Annual Report and Accounts for 2025 to 2026, the WRA reflects on a year of change, growth and continued delivery, marking the first year of its Corporate Plan for 2025 to 2028.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The WRA collects Land Transaction Tax (LTT) and Landfill Disposals Tax (LDT) on behalf of the Welsh Government. This revenue is reinvested in vital public services, from the NHS to schools, in communities across Wales.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Since 2018, the WRA has collected more than \u00a32.7 billion in total for Wales. It does this through &#8216;Our Approach&#8217;, a Welsh way of doing tax.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Highlights from the year include:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a reduction in the average time taken to complete a tax investigation\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>88% of people rated the WRA\u2019s services easy to use\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>the WRA ranked among the highest scoring Civil Service organisations in the UK on the employee engagement index for the eighth year running\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The WRA has also continued to expand its capability, supporting the Welsh Government in preparing to collect Visitor Levy on behalf of local councils and manage the registration of visitor accommodation providers in Wales.<\/p>\n<p>Rebecca Godfrey, Chief Executive Officer of the WRA, yesterday\u00a0said:\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Our Approach is at the heart of everything we do. This means we start from a position of high trust \u2013 recognising that the vast majority people and organisations want to do the right thing first time, and we work with them to help get things right first time.<\/p>\n<p>When mistakes happen, we help them to put things right.\u202fWhere people deliberately avoid their obligations, we take firm and\u202fappropriate action.<\/p>\n<p>Our results this year reflect this approach in action. Collecting\u202falmost\u202f\u00a3400\u202fmillion for Wales is something\u202fwe&#8217;re\u202fproud of.\u202fWe&#8217;ve\u202fcontinued to collect and manage\u202fWales\u2019\u202fdevolved taxes\u202fwhile\u202fdoing new things and improving how we work.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This annual report and accounts marks the WRA&#8217;s first year of its Corporate Plan for 2025 to 2028.
