{"id":109362,"date":"2025-05-17T15:42:11","date_gmt":"2025-05-17T15:42:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/109362\/"},"modified":"2025-05-17T15:42:11","modified_gmt":"2025-05-17T15:42:11","slug":"firefighters-battle-blaze-at-edinburgh-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/109362\/","title":{"rendered":"Firefighters battle blaze at Edinburgh airport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Firefighters were called out to battle a blaze at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldscotland.com\/topics\/edinburgh\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Edinburgh;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Edinburgh<\/a> Airport.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldscotland.com\/topics\/scottish-fire-rescue-service\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Scottish Fire and Rescue Service;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Scottish Fire and Rescue Service<\/a> said they received a report at around 1.40pm on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The fire was located in the car park and is believed to have started in a vehicle. <\/p>\n<p>No injuries have been reported and the fire was quickly extinguished.<\/p>\n<p>Flames could be seen coming from the car park (Image: NQ)<\/p>\n<p>Footage shows plumes of dark smoke billowing into the sky which could be seen from a distance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A spokesman for Edinburgh Airport said: \u201cOur fire service swiftly responded to and extinguished a vehicle fire within one of our car parks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn investigation is now taking place to determine the cause.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A SFRS spokeswoman said: \u201cWe received reports of a vehicle fire at a car park at Edinburgh Airport at around 1.40pm on Saturday May 17.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;One appliance was sent to the scene and the fire has now been extinguished.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Firefighters were called out to battle a blaze at Edinburgh Airport.
