<\/p>\n Prince Harry, in his memoir, addressed the infamous spat between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle over Princess Charlotte\u2019s bridesmaid dress.<\/a> He claimed it was in fact his wife who was reduced to tears by Middleton’s words. 3 years since the release of Harry’s Spare, just when it seemed like the bridesmaid dress drama was behind them, there’s a new twist. A royal staffer has claimed that the bickering left both women in tears.<\/p>\n Article continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Royal author Tom Quinn, in his biography Yes, Ma’am: The Secret Life of Royal Servants, has offered insight into the alleged fight. As reported by People magazine,<\/a> he quoted a royal insider who said, \u201cI can tell you that all the papers and commentators got this wrong, the truth is that as with many of these spats between sisters, brothers or even sisters-in-law, both sides were really upset.\u201d The source added, \u201cThe truth is that during the discussions about the bridesmaid’s dress, Meghan said a few things she regretted and Kate said a few things she later regretted, but it was all in the heat of the moment. Both women were crying their eyes out!\u201d<\/p>\n Article continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Sussex\u2019s tiff had to do with Charlotte\u2019s bridesmaid dress for the Sussex wedding, which fit her poorly. At the time, reports emerged that Markle had made Middleton cry during the disagreement. However, in her 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview, Markle claimed that \u201cthe reverse happened,\u201d meaning she was the one crying over what transpired. As reported by People magazine<\/a>, she, however, added that Middleton later apologized and brought her flowers with a note. She said, \u201cI actually think it’s \u2014 I don’t think it’s fair to her to get into the details of that because she apologized, and I’ve forgiven her.\u201d<\/p>\n Article continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Harry also shared his perspective <\/a>on the bridesmaid dress fiasco, echoing Markle\u2019s sentiments. In his memoir, he wrote that Middleton allegedly texted Markle four days before their wedding, saying, \u201cCharlotte’s dress is too big, too long, too baggy. She cried when she tried it on at home.\u201d After a \u201cback and forth\u201d between the sisters-in-laws over text, the Duke claimed he \u201cfound Meg on the floor, sobbing.” He recounted, “I was horrified to see her so upset, but didn’t think it was a catastrophe.\u201d <\/p>\n Article continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<\/p>\n While Middleton and Markle\u2019s spat first made headlines, a source told royal reporter Camilla Tominey for the Telegraph<\/a>, \u201cKate had only just given birth to Prince Louis and was feeling quite emotional.\u201d Despite the varied accounts, Ajay Mirpui, the tailor who helped with the bridesmaids’ dresses, told the Daily Mail<\/a> that he did not see a fight happening <\/a>in his presence.
