(Photo by Alex Livesey\/Getty Images)\" height=\"640\" width=\"960\" data-credit=\"Getty\" data-img=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/GettyImages-2198015318.jpg\" data-caption=\"Chisora promised Warren he would retire after 50 fights\"   loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/GettyImages-2198015318.jpg\" role=\"img\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>3<\/p>\n<p>Chisora promised Warren he would retire after 50 fightsCredit: Getty<\/p>\n<p>Chisora had promised Warren that he would pack it in after his next bout, but a win over <a href=\"https:\/\/talksport.com\/who\/otto-wallin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Otto Wallin<\/a> in an IBF eliminator last February has thrown a spanner in the works.<\/p>\n<p>The 41-year-old now finds himself in an unlikely IBF mandatory position with a shot at the winner of <a href=\"https:\/\/talksport.com\/who\/oleksandr-usyk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oleksandr Usyk<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/talksport.com\/who\/daniel-dubois\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daniel Dubois<\/a>&#8216; undisputed clash seemingly on the horizon.<\/p>\n<p>WBO mandatory <a href=\"https:\/\/talksport.com\/who\/joseph-parker\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joseph Parker<\/a> is next up in the sanctioning body rotation system, meaning Chisora may have to wait until the second half of 2026 for his shot at world heavyweight gold.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, Warren anticipates Chisora will fight again during the interim period before he is ordered to box the IBF champion.<\/p>\n<p>Asked by talkSPORT.com if Chisora will wait out for his shot at the red and gold strap, Warren said: &#8220;No, I think he will fight before then.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We will see what happens, boxing is an unusual business, it is always changing and evolving.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But it is exciting, and this heavyweight division is really exciting.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I wish he would stop at 50, but you never know. He might just want to [do 51 fights].
