Cabot Creamery said in an email to USA TODAY Wednesday that only 17 packages of the recalled butter were sold at retail.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Agri-Mark has identified the cause and has taken the appropriate internal actions to address it. No other products were affected,&#8221; Cabot Creamery&#8217;s parent company Agri-Mark said in a statement Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The recall was marked as Class III recall by the FDA, meaning that it believes the affected products are, &#8220;not likely to cause adverse health consequences.&#8221; Cabot Creamery said in an email that have been no reports of illness or consumer complaints.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what you need to know about the Cabot Creamery Butter recall.<\/p>\n<p>Butter recalled in 7 states<\/p>\n<p>FDA documents show that the recalled butter was sent to the following states:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Arkansas<\/li>\n<li>Connecticut<\/li>\n<li>Maine<\/li>\n<li>New Hampshire<\/li>\n<li>New York<\/li>\n<li>Pennsylvania<\/li>\n<li>Vermont<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cabot Creamery said that &#8220;99.5% of the product was recovered before reaching consumers.&#8221; The company said that the recalled butter that made it to store shelves was sold in Vermont.<\/p>\n<p>How to identify the recalled butter<\/p>\n<p>The recalled butter is packaged as two\u00a04-ounce sticks in cardboard shells.<\/p>\n<p>The packages are marked with:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Best By<\/strong>: 09\/09\/25<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lot<\/strong>: 090925-055<\/li>\n<li><strong>Item #<\/strong>: 2038<\/li>\n<li><strong>UPC<\/strong>: 0 78354 62038 0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What is coliform?<\/p>\n<p>Coliform is a group of bacteria that is found in the feces of mammals,<a href=\"https:\/\/doh.wa.gov\/community-and-environment\/drinking-water\/contaminants\/coliform#WhatAreColi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> according to the Washington State Department of Health.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Coliform is unlikely to cause illness, according to the department, but its presence suggests that other pathogens could be present.
