(WOWT) &#8211; The top-ranked high school basketball recruit in Nebraska is staying in Omaha.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Westside senior London Dada, a four-star wing and the state\u2019s No. 1 recruit, committed to play for Creighton men\u2019s basketball in late May, becoming the first 2027 addition for new Creighton head coach Alan Huss.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI get to play basketball in front of the people I always played in front of \u2014 my city, my friends, my family \u2014 so it\u2019ll be nice,\u201d Dada said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou don\u2019t have to go super far\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Dada said the decision was simple: an elite program that is close to home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cYou don\u2019t have to go super far when you\u2019ve got a program that\u2019s that good and it\u2019s just 20 minutes away,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Family ties and an Omaha basketball foundation<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Dada\u2019s father, Tola Dada, played for UNO men\u2019s basketball from 2000-04. He said Huss\u2019 transparency stood out during London\u2019s recruitment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cHe\u2019s very honest in the whole process,\u201d Tola Dada said. \u201cHe\u2019s not going to tell you that your son is the next Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan. He\u2019s going to be very honest with you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">London Dada credited his father as a major influence on his game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cHe is probably the biggest influence on my game, just like the IQ standpoint,\u201d he said. \u201cWe always watch film together. He just helped me, trained me from the start to where I am now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A longtime dream to play for Creighton<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Dada\u2019s connection to Creighton started years before his recruitment. He spent time as a ball boy at CHI Health Center, working baseline mop-up duty and imagining what it would be like to play there.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThat probably started it as, like, this is where I would love to play someday,\u201d he said. \u201cBeing eight, nine years old, sitting on the court, basically just seeing them play in that environment \u2014 it was really fun.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What Creighton is getting<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Dada now has a full season to play at Westside, free from the stresses of recruiting. He\u2019s excited to bring his skillset to the Bluejays.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cMy size, my versatility and my ability to shoot,\u201d he said. \u201cJust play all spots on the floor. I can guard all positions. I can score from all places around the floor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">His father agrees.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThey\u2019re gonna see a player that\u2019s confident,\u201d Tola Dada said. \u201cThey\u2019re gonna obviously see the shooting.
