Boris Johnson<\/a> has hit out at Reform<\/a> UK for consistently taking credit for getting Brexit<\/a> over the line.<\/p>\n

The former Conservative<\/a> prime minister, who campaigned in the 2019 general election on the promise to \u201cget Brexit<\/a> done\u201d, claimed Nigel Farage\u2019s <\/a>party did not do a \u201cbean\u201d towards actually securing our EU exit.<\/p>\n

Both Johnson <\/a>and Farage were part of the Leave movement in the run-up to and shortly after EU referendum in 2016, though on different campaigns \u2013 the then-Tory MP Johnson was in Vote Leave while Farage led Leave.EU.<\/p>\n

Farage and his party Reform UK<\/a> \u2013 formerly the Brexit Party \u2013 have consistently attacked Johnson\u2019s legacy after migration soared once the UK left the EU.<\/p>\n

Sky News<\/a> presenter Trevor Phillips asked Johnson on Sunday: \u201cAre you at all embarrassed by the way that Reform and others are using the term \u2018Boriswave\u2019?<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause it is true that net migration, for better or worse, has been higher as a consequence of decisions you took than any time in our history.\u201d<\/p>\n

Johnson said Brexit gave the UK power to \u201ccontrol immigration\u201d.<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cWe have the power under Brexit, and under Brexit, which I secured and which those people didn\u2019t \u2013 they didn\u2019t even exist!\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cThey did not have a single MP,\u201d he said, referring to Reform UK. \u201cThey did not do a bean to get Brexit through the House of Commons. Not a bean.<\/p>\n

\u201c And they swank around claiming to have been responsible for it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey did, they did nothing to deliver Brexit.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe hard Brexit I went through the House of Commons I want to move, enables us, enables this country not only to have as few people because we want overall, but also under our laws, to decide who comes from where.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reform UK spokesman hit back at that criticism, telling HuffPost UK: \u201cBoris only had his majority because we put country before party in 2019. <\/p>\n

\u201cBoris then broke Britain so badly that the Conservatives haven\u2019t led a single opinion poll since.\u201d<\/p>\n
