Pagers may have largely gone out of fashion in the age of the smartphone, but the T-LoRa Pager<\/strong><\/a> from LILYGO puts a modern spin on the class communications device. It\u2019s a portable device with a 2.33 inch widescreen display, a thumb keyboard for tapping out messages, and support for LoRa, NFC, and GPS (GNSS), theoretically allowing you to communicate without relying on cellular networks.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not really meant for the general public though \u2013 it\u2019s more of a development platform, and developers can write code for the device using Arduino-IDE, VS Code, and ESP-IDF.\u00a0While the pager isn\u2019t currently available for purchase, its listed at the LILYGO website<\/a> with a list price of $82.67.<\/p>\n

The T-LoRa Pager measures 106 x 89 x 23mm (4.2\u2033 x 3.5\u2033 x 0.9\u2033), making it smaller than most modern smartphones. It has 2.33 inch, 480 x 222 pixel IPS LCD display, an ESP32-S3 dual-core 240 MHz processor with support for WiFi 4 and Bluetooth 5, 8MB of PSRAM, and 16MB of flash memory.<\/p>\n

Additional hardware includes modules for LoRA communications, NFC, global satellite positioning, audio, and motion sensing. There\u2019s a 500 mAh battery and USB Type-C port for charging and data, as well as a microSD card reader, 3.5mm audio jack, and physical buttons for power, boot, and reset.<\/p>\n
