Ben White<\/a> has declared himself available for the England<\/a> national team again under Thomas Tuchel<\/a> having not been involved for his country since the 2022 World Cup. After rumours of a falling out with Gareth Southgate’s assistant Steve Holland, White left the England camp in Qatar due to ‘personal reasons’. He has not made an appearance since March of the same year.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old hasn’t even been in a squad since the last World Cup and Southgate declared that White “didn’t want to be considered for England squads” after that. The 54-year-old has since been replaced by former Chelsea<\/a> manager Tuchel. With the German coach in charge, Arsenal<\/a> defender White insists he is ready to play for the Three Lions again having only racked up four caps despite being a key man for the Gunners since joining in 2021.<\/p>\n

White confirmed he’s held positive talks with Tuchel and said: “I’m definitely available. I spoke to him a few times and he’s such a nice, nice man, very honest. Obviously I haven’t been back for too long so it\u2019s just about playing now and hopefully making my way back in.”<\/p>\n

The versatile defender has only made 15 Premier League appearances this season after having minor knee surgery in November.<\/p>\n

But White, who will become a father for the first time this summer, is targeting a return to peak fitness in the offseason and would also relish an England recall. He added: “I’ve never really been injured before.<\/p>\n

“I didn’t really know how to deal with it as well as I probably could have. It’s just so long, not doing what you love and not being able to help the team was tough.<\/p>\n

“I’m back now, feeling good and I think it’s about getting ready for next season. I’m having a baby this summer so I’m going to be in England, training every day and getting back to my best.<\/p>\n

“It’s something so exciting and probably the most valuable thing you can have happen.” White says the competition with Jurrien Timber has helped spur him on at Arsenal<\/a> too.<\/p>\n

“Seeing JT come back from an ACL, he’s had to play every game and has done so well,” he said. “It would have been ideal if I could have helped and maybe taken a little bit of stress off him.<\/p>\n
