Birmingham will host its first Ozzy Day on Wednesday, July 22. The date marks one year since Ozzy Osbourne died.<\/p>\n
This free event will bring live music, public art, and tributes across the city center. Central BID and OPUS will organize the program in partnership with Birmingham City Council, Birmingham New Street, and Westside BID.<\/p>\n
Activities will take place at the Black Sabbath Bench and Bridge, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, Birmingham New Street Station, Bullring, Selfridges, and Martineau Place. Bostin Brass will perform pop-up shows throughout the day at five locations. This five-piece brass band performed at the musician’s funeral procession last year.<\/p>\n
The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra will give a performance at Bullring at 12:15 p.m. local time. Fans can take free Polaroid photos with Ozzy the Bull at Birmingham New Street from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. local time.<\/p>\n
Birmingham Music Archive will gather stories and memories from fans about the “No More Tears”<\/a> rocker in a commemorative guestbook.<\/p>\n “Ozzy Day is a fantastic example of Birmingham working together to celebrate the legendary Ozzy Osbourne,” Sam Watson, chair of Central BID, said in a statement, according to Metal Injection<\/a>. “By bringing together businesses, cultural organizations, and public spaces, we’re creating a city center wide experience that encourages people to celebrate the legacy of a truly global, Birmingham-born icon.”<\/p>\n The Aston-born musician died on July 22, 2025, at age 76. He performed his final show on July 5, 2025, at the Back to the Beginning concert in Birmingham, where he reunited with his original Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward.<\/p>\n
