Update [Tue 21st Jul 2026, 12:45pm]:<\/strong> If you were excited to play a new port of Heavy Rain<\/a> dev Quantic Dream\u2019s PS2 crime caper Indigo Prophecy<\/a> \u2013 also known as Fahrenheit \u2013 today, then prepare to be disappointed.<\/p>\n

While Sony had originally indicated on the PS Blog<\/a> this game would be re-released on PS5, presumably using its new emulator, it\u2019s since clarified this is actually the 2016 version available only on PS4.<\/p>\n

That means no new Trophies and fewer quality-of-life features.<\/p>\n

I\u2019d still recommend playing the game if you\u2019re interested in it, but it\u2019s disappointing to learn there\u2019s technically only one new PS Plus Premium classic<\/a> this week \u2013 the enjoyable Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Original Story:<\/strong> Heavy Rain<\/a> maker Quantic Dream will re-release its wildly ambitious PS2 adventure game Indigo Prophecy<\/a> \u2013 better known as Fahrenheit<\/a> in Europe \u2013 on the PS5 later this month.<\/p>\n

The game, already available on the PS Store<\/strong><\/a> as part of Sony\u2019s PS2-to-PS4 program, will be updated in the platform holder\u2019s new emulator, offering native PS5 support with rewind, save states, CRT filters, and region select.<\/p>\n

The game will be included as part of PS Plus Premium<\/strong><\/a> from 21st July, but I\u2019d also expect it to be sold separately if you don\u2019t have the most expensive membership.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the blurb, via the PS Blog<\/a>:<\/p>\n

I reviewed this game on an old website I ran back in high school, and was absolutely obsessed with the opening mission, which takes place in a diner.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s peak Quantic Dream, with white knuckle pacing as you try to cover up a murder.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the story does go downhill in its second half, with one iconic sequence seeing you fight against the Millenium Bug (for real).<\/p>\n

Still, this is such a novel and unique game I think it\u2019s really worth playing if you haven\u2019t already \u2013 especially if you\u2019re interested about the origins of director David Cage\u2019s work.<\/p>\n
