{"id":1102647,"date":"2026-07-21T13:51:17","date_gmt":"2026-07-21T13:51:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1102647\/"},"modified":"2026-07-21T13:51:17","modified_gmt":"2026-07-21T13:51:17","slug":"paper-cup-coffee-celebrates-liverpool-pride-with-a-special-guest-barista","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1102647\/","title":{"rendered":"Paper Cup Coffee celebrates Liverpool Pride with a special guest barista"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Paper Cup Coffee in Queen Square is celebrating Liverpool Pride this Saturday (July 25) with the help of its latest special guest barista.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The coffee shop, which supports people experiencing homelessness in the city, is just a few minutes away from the starting point for this year\u2019s Pride march at Clayton Square and St John\u2019s Beacon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It will be opening from 9am on Saturday ahead of the march which sets off at 11.30am, and getting a hand serving customers from the cover star of this month\u2019s Attitude magazine, city political leader Carl Cashman.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Carl is the third guest barista to show his support for Paper Cup, following celebrity stints behind the counter from The Charlatans\u2019 frontman Tim Burgess and rock band Enter Shikari.<\/p>\n<p>\n\ud83d\ude84\n<\/p>\n<p>Heading to London this summer?<\/p>\n<p style=\"&#10;font-size:22px;&#10;line-height:1.8;&#10;margin-bottom:28px;&#10;color:#fff;&#10;\">\nSave money with the Avanti West Coast Summer Sale. Our customers experience prejudice in their own way so there is a similar message to Pride and we wanted to do something more to show our support this year.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1080\" height=\"1350\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/749665057_18069768494706167_1212497360222382981_n.jpg\" alt=\"Paper Cup Coffee\" class=\"wp-image-245446\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCarl has been a very vocal supporter of the LGBT community, and he\u2019s just done an Attitude cover this month so I thought it would be good if he could come in.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHe said yes, so he\u2019ll be there first thing in the morning to help with our homeless service and then after that hopefully we\u2019ll have lots of customers who are going to Pride coming in to see him and get served by him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCarl will be our third guest barista, after Tim Burgess from The Charlatans kicked it off. He\u2019s been in a couple of times when The Charlatans have played in Liverpool, he\u2019s been a big supporter and he\u2019s come on board as one of our patrons.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe also had Enter Shikari helping out earlier this year. We had a queue down the street when they were in and lots of the people who came for coffee had been sleeping out the night before to get tickets for their gig.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019d love to have more guest baristas because I think every person who comes in brings their own diverse group of people who are finding out about the shop and the work we do.
