The recommendation aims to prevent potential energy supply disruptions.<\/p>\n<p>The law, which targets methane leaks from <b>fossil fuel operations<\/b>, was due to require imported gas to meet EU-equivalent emissions monitoring standards from <b>January 2027<\/b>. According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.efrag.org\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer external noopener nofollow\">European Financial Reporting Advisory Group<\/a> (EFRAG), the share of companies publishing transition plans <b>increased to 69%<\/b> in <b>FY2025<\/b>, up from <b>55%<\/b> the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>The report analyzed <b>905<\/b> assured sustainability statements against <b>18 indicators <\/b>covering the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unepfi.org\/impact\/interoperability\/european-sustainability-reporting-standards-esrs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer external noopener nofollow\">European Sustainability Reporting Standards<\/a> (ESRS). <b>Climate change <\/b>and <b>workforce issues<\/b> were the most frequently identified material topics, cited by <b>99%<\/b> of companies.<\/p>\n<p>However, <b>only 57% <\/b>of companies said their near- and long-term decarbonization targets aligned with a<b> 1.5\u00b0C pathway<\/b>. They argue the policy violates <b>federal law<\/b> and causes the states harm by increasing energy costs, threatening grid reliability, and jeopardizing tax revenues.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit describes the move as part of the Trump administration\u2019s<b> \u201cwar on wind energy\u201d<\/b>.
