{"id":1105365,"date":"2026-07-22T22:06:16","date_gmt":"2026-07-22T22:06:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1105365\/"},"modified":"2026-07-22T22:06:16","modified_gmt":"2026-07-22T22:06:16","slug":"iran-warns-of-regional-turmoil-if-us-threats-and-attacks-do-not-stop-us-israel-war-on-iran-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1105365\/","title":{"rendered":"Iran warns of regional turmoil if US threats and attacks do not stop | US-Israel war on Iran News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__subhead\">Tehran\u2019s chief negotiator says if Iran\u2019s \u2018security is not ensured, no infrastructure will be safe\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Iran has threatened to launch more attacks across the Gulf region if strikes by the United States military do not stop, warning that \u201cno infrastructure will be safe\u201d unless its own security is guaranteed.<\/p>\n<p>Iran\u2019s chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf delivered the message in a post on X Wednesday, after US President Donald Trump threatened to attack more Iranian power plants and bridges.<\/p>\n<p>Recommended Stories list of 3 itemsend of list<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn a region where we do not sell oil, no one will sell oil,\u201d Ghalibaf said. \u201cIf our security is not ensured, no infrastructure will be safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ghalibaf\u2019s statement, echoing similar threats by other Iranian officials, came after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2026\/7\/21\/explosions-in-iran-as-us-launches-new-strikes\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">eleven straight nights of US attacks<\/a>, some of which hit Iranian power plants and roads.<\/p>\n<p>Both sides have been targeting civilian infrastructure, which is a war crime under international law unless it is being used for military purposes.<\/p>\n<p>Iran\u2019s Ministry of Health said US attacks since late last month have killed 53 people, including three children, and injured 590 others.<\/p>\n<p>Iran has responded to the US onslaught with repeated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2026\/7\/19\/kuwaiti-power-plant-ablaze-as-iran-hits-us-gulf-allies\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">attacks on US allies Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan<\/a> this week, including hitting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2026\/7\/19\/kuwaiti-power-plant-ablaze-as-iran-hits-us-gulf-allies\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">water and power plants in Kuwait<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>An Iranian attack on an air base in Jordan on Friday killed three US service members, while a fourth US soldier was killed in Erbil, Iraq on Sunday during a controlled detonation of an attack drone. Their deaths brought the total number of US personnel killed during the war to 18, according to the US military.<\/p>\n<p>Iran\u2019s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran would retaliate \u201can eye for an eye\u201d against any future attacks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny aggression against Iran, including our infrastructure, will compel a powerful and decisive response,\u201d Araghchi said.<\/p>\n<p>Iran\u2019s military said threats from Washington \u201cwill have no result other than the expansion of the war\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNeither side wants to look weak by backing down,\u201d Mehran Kamrava, professor of government at Georgetown University in Qatar, told Al Jazeera.<\/p>\n<p>But he said Iran is \u201crunning out of options in terms of the number of regional targets they can attack\u201d without causing more severe lasting damage to its regional standing.<\/p>\n<p>Trump \u2018had enough of waiting\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The escalating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/liveblog\/2026\/7\/22\/iran-war-live-us-launches-new-attacks-hegseth-says-war-has-cost-37-5bn\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">attacks<\/a> have led both sides to say they have abandoned the interim peace deal they signed last month, at least for now.<\/p>\n<p>A major point of contention has been the status of the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has insisted on maintaining control over. The US military\u2019s Central Command (CENTCOM) has said the strait \u201cremains open for transit\u201d despite \u201cthreats and attacks\u201d by Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.<\/p>\n<p>Iran-allied Houthis in Yemen have also threatened a second vital energy route, the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2026\/7\/22\/can-the-suez-save-asian-oil-consumers-after-houthis-shut-bab-al-mandeb\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">declaring a blockade of Saudi ports<\/a>, prompting five tankers to change course in the Red Sea.<\/p>\n<p>Trump raised the stakes on Wednesday by saying the US would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2026\/7\/22\/trump-threatens-to-bomb-iranian-bridges-power-plants-over-ship-attacks\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">attack one power plant or bridge<\/a> in Iran every time Iranian forces target a ship in the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Trump had enough of waiting on the Iranians, and it does not seem there is any mediator with the credibility to bring the Iranians to the table,\u201d Muhanad Seloom, assistant professor at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, told Al Jazeera.<\/p>\n<p>As mediators <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2026\/7\/21\/can-mediators-broker-a-truce-between-the-us-and-iran\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">rushed to salvage the faltering US-Iran agreement<\/a>, Rubio said Wednesday Iran is not serious about diplomacy even though Iranian officials have been reaching out to Washington.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf they\u2019re serious, we\u2019re serious.
