\n\tThe Duchess of Sussex is making a cameo on the July 26 episode of MasterChef Australia, but not everything went smoothly behind the scenes, per Sky News Australia<\/a>. Meghan\u2019s team reportedly had one request for the production \u2014 don\u2019t refer to the royal family<\/a>. Given the very fluid nature of the ongoing feud<\/a>, it\u2019s an understandable request to avoid the British tabloids from making a fuss.<\/p>\n

\n\tIt seems that somebody missed the memo when judge Poh Ling Yeow introduced Meghan.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe\u2019ve had MasterChef royalty in the kitchen before but no one like this,\u201d Yeow said. \u201cAll the way from sunny California, please welcome to MasterChef Australia, The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMeghan\u2019s team was \u201cvery frustrated\u201d by the introduction because they \u201cspecifically\u201d told producers that they didn\u2019t want the word \u201croyal\u201d<\/a> to be a part of her segment, a source told News.au.com<\/a>. The Duchess of Sussex didn\u2019t find out about the royal phrasing until the promo was released for the episode.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThey were outside the doors when it was filmed, so didn\u2019t know what had been said,\u201d the insider added.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe situation has left Yeow feeling \u201cupset\u201d because producers didn\u2019t inform her of the restriction, per New Idea<\/a>. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t about Meghan personally,\u201d a source told the media outlet. \u201cPoh felt she had been unintentionally drawn into a royal protocol issue she never intended to be part of.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, a source close to the Sussexes downplayed any issues on MasterChef Australia and told Page Six,<\/a> \u201cThere was no frustration on Meghan\u2019s side about anything that was said on set.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMeghan also released a statement to the network that airs MasterChef Australia. \u201cWhat attracted me to the MasterChef Australia kitchen? Two things: my love of food and my love of Australia. It was an easy yes,\u201d Meghan said, in a statement released by Ten<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s such a great show. I\u2019m just really honored that I was asked to be able to be here with you and to be able to judge some of these meals,\u201d the statement to Ten reads. The contestants were challenged to create a meal \u201cfit for a Duchess\u201d using some of her favorite ingredients, including strawberries, lemons, Brussels sprouts, artichokes, and carrots.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe appearance on MasterChef Australia was filmed during her visit to the country<\/a> in April with Prince Harry.<\/p>\n
