{"id":1108568,"date":"2026-07-24T13:19:17","date_gmt":"2026-07-24T13:19:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1108568\/"},"modified":"2026-07-24T13:19:17","modified_gmt":"2026-07-24T13:19:17","slug":"milk-pulled-from-shelves-in-scotland-over-vet-medicine-fear","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1108568\/","title":{"rendered":"Milk pulled from shelves in Scotland over vet medicine fear"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">A Scottish dairy farm has pulled milk from supermarket shelves over fears it could be contaminated with veterinary medicines like penicillin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">Graham\u2019s Family Dairy is recalling its semi-skimmed milk as it is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to certain antibiotics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">The recall covers its one-pint, one-litre, and two-litre bottles sold in the UK at major supermarkets including Tesco, Sainsbury\u2019s, Asda and Morrisons.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">Shoppers have been told to return the milk to the store where it was purchased for a refund.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">Food Standards Scotland said in a statement: \u201cThe presence of veterinary medicines, including antibiotics, in the product may make it unsafe to consume and may be a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to antibiotics, including penicillin.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">Graham\u2019s is based in Scotland and is the country\u2019s largest independent dairy company.
