A dad has described the horrific moment a tractor ploughed through his home<\/a> and into his son’s bedroom. Emergency services were called to the scene on A51 Vicars Cross Road in Chester this morning (Tuesday, April 1) after a tractor smashed through the front of two houses following a crash with a Mercedes<\/a> car at around 6.36am.<\/p>\n The tractor<\/a>, which is understood to have contained farm slurry, smashed into two houses opposite a Shell garage on Vicars Cross Road, closing the road for serval hours.<\/p>\n Pictures show the house fronts completely destroyed and a bed, which a child had been sleeping in just moments before, balanced on top of the tractor with children’s teddies seen inside.<\/p>\n Rubble surrounded the tractor and dozens of firefighters worked at removing the trailer and tractor from the building for a number of hours.<\/a> A cat was also reportedly rescued near to the scene by fire crews.<\/p>\n Dad, Jumad Chowehuro, 60, who has lived in one of the destroyed houses for 40 years, told the ECHO<\/a> how his son had woken up for school moments before his bed ended up on top of the tractor after it ploughed through his bedroom wall. His son was miraculously not injured in the incident.<\/p>\n Jumad said: \u201cThis is my house. I don\u2019t know what happened, it was about 6.30am, I was in the back and it was noisy so I got up and came through here and looked to see what the noise was and a car was coming towards our house.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cMy son was asleep in his bed [shortly before the crash], thankfully he got up just before it happened because he had school. He has not gone to school.\u201c<\/p>\n The dad says his wife has been frightened by the incident. He added: \u201cIt\u2019s horrible seeing my house like this, we have lived here for 40 years. My wife is frightened, we have been lucky.\u201c<\/p>\n He claims there have been other crashed on Vicars Cross Road <\/a>before and one woman, who lives a few doors down from the scene of the incident, told the ECHO<\/a> how a car previously smashed through a house further up the road.<\/p>\n She said: “It\u2019s not the first time this has happened, a car went into a house once further up the street.” Describing this morning’s incident,<\/a> the woman, who did not want to be named, added: \u201cI woke up at half six and could hear all the police<\/a> and fire. I looked out the window and could see them, I thought there had just been a crash.<\/p>\n “Then I came out and saw this – it\u2019s so sad, you feel awful for the families. The houses have been here for years, it\u2019s a shame to see such an old house like that gone. I\u2019d be devastated if it happened to my house, I love my house it makes you feel vulnerable it could have happened to me.<\/p>\n Cheshire Police<\/a> confirmed there were no reports of any serious injuries, but the drivers of both vehicles have both been taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital as a precautionary measure. The force also confirmed the people living inside the houses have all been accounted for, and are all safe and well.<\/p>\n The road was closed <\/a>in both directions between Green Lane and the A41 and motorists were urged to avoid the area while recovery work was ongoing.
