Mutual investment totalled <strong>\u20ac4.9 trillion <\/strong>in 2024 and continues to grow.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This scale makes the transatlantic economy a central pillar of global growth, jobs and prosperity.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Transatlantic trade remained resilient in 2025\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Despite global turbulence and the volatile developments in the relationship, transatlantic trade remained steady in 2025 and continued to grow.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>EU exports of goods to the United States increased by <strong>3.5%<\/strong>, rising from <strong>\u20ac536 billion<\/strong> to <strong>\u20ac555 billion<\/strong>. The EU maintained its position as the number one US supplier, and EU companies and customers continue to be invested in growing the partnership. Since the beginning of 2025, EU companies announced investments in the US market worth almost \u20ac250 billion.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As the EU advances its energy diversification objectives, the US has become an important source of energy supply. Since 2025, EU companies closed deals worth \u20ac230 billion of energy resources.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>These figures show that the EU-US trade and investment flows remained robust even in a challenging environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Balanced trade flows\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>EU-US trade is balanced and complementary. The EU recorded a goods <strong>trade surplus of \u20ac198 billion<\/strong>, while the US enjoyed a services <strong>trade surplus of \u20ac178 billion<\/strong>. The remaining gap stands at around <strong>\u20ac20 billion<\/strong>, equal to just <strong>1% of total trade<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Taken together, these figures underline the balance and the complementary strengths of the transatlantic trade.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Opportunities for collaboration going forward\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>EU-US deal forms the basis<\/strong> for further work and cooperation to increase trade and improve the environment for doing business.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There is scope for <strong>further lowering tariffs<\/strong> on the US side, as well as to cut red tape and promote regulatory cooperation.
