{"id":1113149,"date":"2026-07-26T23:16:18","date_gmt":"2026-07-26T23:16:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1113149\/"},"modified":"2026-07-26T23:16:18","modified_gmt":"2026-07-26T23:16:18","slug":"hm-morrisons-british-heart-foundation-and-charles-clinkard-announce-store-closures-across-britain-in-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1113149\/","title":{"rendered":"H&#038;M, Morrisons, British Heart Foundation and Charles Clinkard announce store closures across Britain in 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Britain&#8217;s high streets are facing another wave of store closures as major retailers and charities continue to scale back their physical presence.<\/p>\n<p>H&amp;M, Decathlon, Morrisons, the British Heart Foundation and heritage shoe retailer Charles Clinkard have all confirmed branch closures in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The closures come as retailers continue to contend with weaker consumer spending, rising operating costs and declining footfall, with more stores expected to shut throughout the rest of the year.<\/p>\n<p>The British Heart Foundation has announced the largest programme of closures, confirming plans to shut 150 shops across Britain.<\/p>\n<p>It has formally identified 87 branches for closure, with those stores due to close by March 2027.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining stores are still under review, with any further closures expected to take place by March 2028.<\/p>\n<p>The confirmed closures span England, Scotland and Wales, with branches in Aberdare, Bangor, Sunderland and Swansea among those affected.<\/p>\n<p>London stores in Balham, Camden, Fulham, Hammersmith and Finchley are also scheduled to close.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"a1025\" data-rm-shortcode-id=\"d56b1467a08ee40704398a0942c4c977\" data-rm-shortcode-name=\"rebelmouse-image\" class=\"rm-shortcode rm-lazyloadable-image \" lazy-loadable=\"true\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns='http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg'%20viewBox='0%200%204851%203229'%3E%3C\/svg%3E\" data-runner-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/british-heart-foundation-shop-front.jpg\" width=\"4851\" height=\"3229\" alt=\"British Heart Foundation shop front\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The British Heart Foundation is shutting 150 shops across Britain<\/p>\n<p> | PA<\/p>\n<p>Several British Heart Foundation home stores are included in the plans, with sites in Brighton, Crawley, Chatham, Hull, Harrow and other locations set to cease trading by next spring.<\/p>\n<p>Sporting goods retailer Decathlon has also closed its Queens Square store in Crawley after more than 10 years in the town.<\/p>\n<p>A notice displayed at the branch said: &#8220;Thank you for being a loyal customer!
