Springsteen\u2019s upcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.app.com\/story\/entertainment\/music\/2025\/04\/03\/bruce-springsteen-box-set-tracks-ii-the-lost-albums-seven\/82790240007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cTracks II: The Lost Albums\u201d<\/a> includes seven unreleased albums (83 songs) recorded between 1983 and 2018. It will be released on Friday, June 27, on Sony Music.<\/p>\n<p>Weinberg, known as Mighty Max to E Street band fans, gave the Boss a hand on the project<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFive, six seven years ago I spent the whole summer playing on about 50 songs of this where I was really pleased that I replaced a bunch of really well-known drummers who didn&#8217;t quite have the feel, and drum machines,\u201d said Weinberg from the stage of the Vixen venue in Illinois during a Max Weinberg Jukebox show on April 4.<\/p>\n<p>Fan Emily Ventrello shared the clip. \u201cSome of the stuff that I recorded with Bruce is on these records, and they&#8217;re really cool,\u201d Weinberg added.<\/p>\n<p>To break down that period, seven years ago the Boss was in New York for his historic \u201cSpringsteen on Broadway\u201d run at the Walter Kerr Theatre; six years ago the \u201cWestern Stars\u201d album and movie was released; and five years ago was the period of COVID-19 lockdown, which did see the release of Springsteen and the E Street Band&#8217;s \u201cLetter to You\u201d in October 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Springsteen said he went into his \u201cvault\u201d during the pandemic on the \u201cThe Lost Album\u201d video trailer, released on April 4.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis guy digs deep, deep, deep,\u201d Weinberg said. \u201cIt&#8217;s coming out in June \u2014 not that he needs me to plug his new record, but there&#8217;s really some really cool stuff. There&#8217;s the long-awaited sort of Burt Bacharach-Hal David album that he did, and he took some songs from that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That would be \u201cTwilight Hours\u201d from \u201cThe Lost Albums.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere&#8217;s a great couple of rockabilly songs, and he hired a group of Mexican, not mariachis exactly, but classical Mexican musicians to do a record, which is incredible,\u201d said Weinberg, referring to the lost album \u201cInyo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInyo\u201d is a Native American word that means &#8220;dwelling place of the great spirit,&#8221; according to the Inyo County website. The county is located in the eastern central part of California.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Springsteen spoke of the \u201cStreets of Philadlephia Sessions\u201d lost album, which incorporates \u201cdrum loop and synthesizer sounds\u201d into the music, according to the \u201cTracks 2\u201d press release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis would&#8217;ve been my fourth record in a row about relationships,\u201d wrote Springsteen in his memoir \u201cBorn to Run,\u201d referring to \u201cTunnel of Love,\u201d Lucky Town\u201d and \u201cHuman Touch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I could&#8217;ve felt its fullness, I wouldn&#8217;t have hesitated to put it out.
