Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> target Colby Bishop is not leaving Portsmouth<\/a> this summer, John Mousinho has insisted despite the signing of two strikers.<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday are active in the summer transfer window<\/a> as they rebuild after administration and relegation. SWFC have made a string of signings, but they\u2019re eager to further bolster their frontline.<\/p>\n

Among the players eyed<\/a> by the Owls is Portsmouth<\/a> man Colby Bishop, and after two new striker additions at Fratton Park, questions have been asked over the 29-year-old\u2019s future. However, speaking with The News<\/a>, Pompey boss John Mousinho<\/a> insists he is not going anywhere.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is absolutely no change in terms of Colby\u2019s position,\u201d Mousinho said. \u201cThere has been no interest in him, we are keeping him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pompey have signed Marko Milovanovic and Eoin Kenny as new options up top. Mousinho has made it clear that Thomas Waddingham will be staying at Fratton Park<\/a> too.<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> have had Bishop on their radar, but they have no choice but to turn their attentions elsewhere now. A new striker or two is definitely required, having only added Harry Gray<\/a> to their frontline so far.<\/p>\n

Ike Ugbo is widely expected to depart<\/a>, leaving Charlie McNeill and Jamal Lowe as senior striker options. Will Grainger<\/a> is emerging from the academy as one to watch though, and new signing Louie Barry can be deployed up top too.<\/p>\n

The increased competition means SWFC target Bishop faces a real fight for his place though. Milovanovic will be backed to start, while youngsters Waddingham and Kenny will be determined to pick up minutes as well.<\/p>\n

It will be intriguing to see how Bishop\u2019s situation develops over the season, and whether limited game time prompts a departure further down the line. For now though, he retains a role in Pompey\u2019s plans.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no doubting why Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> had Bishop on the radar. His 2025\/26 season was a tough one, but he has proven to be a standout striker in League One before and was a strong talisman for Portsmouth<\/a> in the Championship in 2024\/25 as well.<\/p>\n

Bishop would have been backed to lead the line for Henrik Pedersen\u2019s side if their interest materialised into a deal. Alas, the Owls must turn their attentions elsewhere in a bid to bolster their striker ranks.<\/p>\n

SWFC have focused on bringing in established players with strong records at senior level this summer. Youngsters such as Sil Swinkels and Harry Gray have scope to develop, but both are ready to contribute in the starting XI too.<\/p>\n

More business awaits at Hillsborough, but they are growing closer to their transfer fee limit and must be wary of their spending.<\/p>\n
