{"id":1114383,"date":"2026-07-27T15:29:26","date_gmt":"2026-07-27T15:29:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1114383\/"},"modified":"2026-07-27T15:29:26","modified_gmt":"2026-07-27T15:29:26","slug":"major-outbreak-of-food-poisoning-grips-usa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1114383\/","title":{"rendered":"Major outbreak of food poisoning grips USA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">An outbreak of cyclosporiasis, a parasitic illness commonly associated with severe diarrhoea, has hospitalised at least 98 people in the US.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">American health officials have said the outbreak is the largest reported in US history and has spread to nine states: Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body-skinny\">Linked to shredded lettuce from central Mexico supplied by Taylor Farms de Mexico, the parasite has prompted a recall of the vegetable across 27 states.
