Local indie and alternative lads Blossoms have announced a special one-off anniversary show at none other than The Deaf Institute right here in Manchester.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Coming to the iconic small-cap venue this summer, the Stockport<\/a><\/strong> band will be marking the 10th birthday of their self-titled debut album by playing one of the smallest gig spaces in the centre, but one that was a massive milestone for them back in the day.<\/p>\n

Now a full decade on from the breakout LP, released on 5 August 2026, Blossoms will be rolling back the years by playing the biggest hits from the record, along with a selection from the many other bangers that they\u2019ve gone on to release since.<\/p>\n

This is going to be one very special night for the SK natives.<\/p>\n

Blossoms have never shied away from championing their Stopfordian roots, but neither have they forgotten the city that helped establish them as one of the biggest bands in Britain.<\/p>\n

For instance, this upcoming Deaf Institute show \u2013 which promises to be a much more intimate show than they\u2019re used to doing these days \u2013 comes not even two years on from the mini Manc residency, when they played five nights here in Manchester<\/a><\/strong> over the course of a single week.<\/p>\n

As we come up to the sixth studio project, Songs From The Wedding Cake, and already have two singles from the next release, we have no shame in admitting we still listen to those first tracks as much as ever.<\/p>\n

With that in mind, it\u2019ll be a surreal full circle for everyone, we\u2019re sure, when Tom, Chaz, Myles, Josh and Joe take the stage in that hallowed hometown room with a capacity of just 250 next month; they\u2019re even playing it EXACTLY 10 years on the precise date that maiden outing dropped: 5 August 2026.<\/p>\n

This weekend, we were lucky enough to follow up seeing the boys headline this year\u2019s NBHD Weekender<\/a><\/strong> by catching them on our latest date of the festival calendar: Tramlines 2026.<\/p>\n

And they even brought out a friend (again)\u2026<\/p>\n

\n

Combine this with them pulling stunts like playing people\u2019s weddings and popping up with a surprise set from inside a van outside 42s nightclub on Deansgate, and it\u2019s hard to think of an artist nailing it as well as Blossoms are right now.<\/p>\n

Keo play Projekts: garage and grunge revivalists crush Manchester skatepark for new music video<\/p>\n

This past Thursday evening, fast-rising rock band Keo took over Projekts MCR skatepark for a special pop-up gig and to film a brand-new music video for their latest single, \u2018Pistol\u2019, starring some of their biggest fans here in Manchester.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In fact, it didn\u2019t take long for us to suss out that plenty of them had flocked from far and wide to be there, and let\u2019s say we\u2019re sure they\u2019ll say it was worth the journey.<\/p>\n

We caught Keo\u2019s well-attended festival set inside the Woodlands at Kendal Calling 2025, not to mention their completely sold-out show at the O2 Ritz back in March<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 their biggest headline date up to that point \u2013 and we\u2019re more certain than ever that they\u2019re going to be absolutely massive.<\/p>\n

And if they keep up doing more memorable stuff like this, it\u2019s just a matter of how soon\u2026<\/p>\n

Packing out Projekts<\/a><\/strong> to the point that people were literally hanging off fences and standing on electrical boxes at the side of the street to try and get a peek at the post-punk, grunge and garage rockers, some of their most enthusiastic young fans had been waiting outside the location as early as noon.<\/p>\n

For context, doors opened six hours later, and the boys didn\u2019t come on until 7:30pm.<\/p>\n

Those who signed up to Keo<\/a><\/strong>\u2018s mailing list were sent information regarding securing a spot at the one-off performance earlier this month.<\/p>\n

While you would have seen the place fill up even if they were just standard concert tickets, the fact that the band were taping the whole thing to use as the visuals for their newest single, as mentioned, meant that Keo\u2019s avid followers were literally clamouring AND clambering to get the best view position possible.<\/p>\n

Turning the popular skaters\u2019 hub\u2019s central bowl into a makeshift stage, with lights, camera, booms and various crew surrounding the entire venue, it was a surreal experience to say the least.<\/p>\n

And, of course, they were absolutely brilliant \u2013 just as they were at the Ritz at the start of the year and Kendal before that<\/a><\/strong>, playing a short but sweet set that left everyone wanting more and choruses of punters chanting Keo long after the final song.<\/p>\n

We can\u2019t wait to see how the video itself turns out, especially seeing how much the people who wrapped around them and the skatepark were lost in the moment, and we\u2019re also looking forward to them headlining Neighbourhood Fest in Manchester city centre this October.<\/p>\n

Oasis\u2019 (What\u2019s the Story) Morning Glory? named biggest UK studio album EVER by Official Charts<\/p>\n

You\u2019re damn right: Oasis continue to be MASSIVE as new figures from the Official Charts Company have confirmed that (What\u2019s the Story) Morning Glory? has clocked in as the biggest UK studio album of all time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Britpop icons and history go hand in hand.<\/p>\n

Yes, according to the latest numbers by our domestic chart-crunchers, only two other albums surpassed Oasis<\/a><\/strong>\u2018 second LP \u2013 and they\u2019re both greatest hits collections.<\/p>\n

The announcement was made on Wednesday, 22 July, just over a whole year on from those reunion world tour shows at Heaton Park. How fitting.<\/p>\n

\n

Starting off by channelling Liam Gallagher<\/a><\/strong> energy and quipping that \u201cOasis vibes are in the area\u201d, they go on to explain the colossal cumulative record.<\/p>\n

\u201cOasis\u00a0claim\u00a0one of the biggest honours in British music history, they write, \u201cas\u00a0(What\u2019s the Story) Morning Glory?\u00a0is named the UK\u2019s Official biggest studio album of all time, according to\u00a0new\u00a0Official Charts Company\u00a0data.\u201d<\/p>\n

Combining UK sales of the record \u2013 both physical and digital over the years \u2013 along with modern streaming statistics, the sophomore outing from the Britpop<\/a><\/strong> giants has amassed approximately 6.2 million UK chart units. Staggering stuff.<\/p>\n

Last year\u2019s Live \u201925 shows have no doubt helped give an added boost to their metrics, but it\u2019s still gargantuan stuff from the local band.<\/p>\n

Yet another incredible stat not just for the Burnage boys but the Manchester music scene as a whole.<\/p>\n

Besides picking up the bronze medal overall, it\u2019s also worth noting that \u2018Wonderwall\u2019 is also enjoying a resurgence in the singles rankings, thanks to being embraced by the England team and fans alike for the 2026 World Cup<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

2026 looks to be just as big a comeback, by the looks of things.<\/p>\n

In case you were wondering who beat them out in the race for the top spot, they were pipped to the post by Queen\u2019s Greatest Hits and the same again from ABBA, two worthy opponents to take third place after. <\/p>\n

Oh, and Definitely Maybe also made the list, too, coming in at number 39 \u2013 making that two in the top 50 even amongst all the compilations. <\/p>\n
