\n\tIt was a star-studded soir\u00e9e in Cannes<\/a> last night as The Hollywood Reporter, with Longines, hosted the official afterparty of Lynne Ramsay<\/a> thriller Die, My Love.<\/p>\n

\n\tRobert Pattinson<\/a> arrived straight from the Palais premiere \u2014 where the film was recipient of a warm, six-minute standing ovation<\/a> \u2014 and LaKeith Stanfield<\/a> came soon after, breaking out some dance moves as carpet photos were taken. Jennifer Lawrence<\/a> joined later in the evening on the arm of Longines CEO Matthias Breschan.<\/p>\n

\n\tAmong other arrivals was Eddington star Joaquin Phoenix<\/a> and wife Rooney Mara, who together blocked Pedro Pascal<\/a>, also in Ari Aster\u2019s pandemic-era film, from snapping any photos. Dakota Johnson<\/a>, set to feature in Celine Song\u2019s hotly-anticipated Materialists this coming summer, as well as \u201cbrat\u201d queen Charli XCX<\/a> and German actor Matthias Schweigh\u00f6fer also joined to celebrate Ramsay\u2019s new movie. Ali Abbasi, director of last year\u2019s Cannes picture The Apprentice with Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong, was in attendance in a Riviera-appropriate, slick cream suit.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnother brilliant event by the incomparable Danielle Pelland, Oscar winner and beloved U.S. actress Sissy Spacek (Pattinson\u2019s onscreen mother in Die, My Love) closed down the party,<\/p>\n

\n\tCirculating at the trendy Cannes hotspot Salama was Bordeaux and C\u00f4tes-d\u2019Auvergne-imported pinot noir and pinot blanc alongside platters of sushi, falafel and sliders before moorish mini desserts including chocolate fondants, cream and fresh fruit skewers. Attendees were welcome to try the themed cocktails, including a \u201cDie, My Darling\u201d with tequila, cointreau and fresh lime juice, \u201cFeral Bloom\u201d with Grey Goose Vodka, vanilla liquor and espresso, or \u201cLove Is a Wound\u201d comprised of Aperol, Prosecco and Perrier.<\/p>\n

\n\tUpon entrance on Cannes\u2019 Rue Florian were a host of private parties that served as a quasi-runway for THR and Longine\u2019s event. A saxophone player weaved through the crowds and, in true Cannes party fashion, a man with a flute stood atop a building and played to a bouncing audience below. At Salama, moody lighting followed through from the terrace through to the bar and dance floor, and further ahead were tables for each cast member to drink and mingle.<\/p>\n

\n\tThere were a few murmurs about the bird costume on the film\u2019s red carpet \u2014 and debates over whether it was a turkey or, indeed, a condor \u2014\u00a0but the mystery was dispelled when organizers confirmed the bird man was a character from Raphael Quenard Cannes Classics documentary I Love Peru. The festival\u2019s synopsis of the doc reads: \u201cGoing through a difficult period, Rapha\u00ebl Quenard abandons everyone around him and, struck by a disturbing vision, flies to Peru. In this spiritual quest, he is accompanied by his friend Hugo David.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tEzra Miller, a collaborator of Ramsay\u2019s from their time on We Need To Talk About Kevin (2011), was seen speeding down the red carpet for the film\u2019s premiere earlier in the evening, reportedly in support of the filmmaker.
