Angel investment platform Aussie Angels has rebranded as Ventari, five years after it launched.<\/p>\n
Founded in November 2021 by Cheryl Mack, Thomas Worden and Sacha Schmitz, Ventari now hosts more than 60 angel funds and syndicates backed by 3,000-plus wholesale investors, who\u2019ve deployed $75 million in Australia and New Zealand startups. The platform itself raised $2 million last year<\/p>\n
More than 35% of all early stage startup deals in ANZ take place on Ventari.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cOver the past decade, it\u2019s been clear just how much the baseline level of knowledge has grown, and how many new investors are joining the ecosystem. Family offices leaning into startups, operators turned angels, and traditional investors realising technology is now a critical allocation,\u201d Mack, Ventari\u2019s CEO, said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s time our name caught up to reflect what we are and who we serve. The need for this infrastructure keeps growing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Funds worth between between $250,000 and $30 million, including M8 Ventures, fintech-focused Triple Bubble, Afterwork, climate-focused Electrify and Co Ventures, used Ventari, including via syndicates<\/p>\n

For Electrifi Ventures, the platform\u2019s growth has tracked the growth of their own syndicate, one of the most active in Australia\u2019s well-established climate tech sector.<\/p>\n Afterwork cofounder Adrian Peterson said \u201cRunning our sidecar via Ventari has allowed us to provide our LPs with the investment opportunities they want and double down on the winners as they grow.\u201d<\/p>\n Mack believes Ventari can go on to faciliate more than 75% of early-stage startup investments \u201cas more of the ecosystem realises this is how deals should get done\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Angel investment platform Aussie Angels has rebranded as Ventari, five years after it launched.
