Former Top Gear star and renowned Remainer, Jeremy Clarkson, has reiterated his disdain for Brexit in a new social media post.<\/p>\n

The Clarkson’s Farm star, 66, has been a vocal critic of Brexit ever since the 2016 referendum, publicly arguing against leaving the European Union both prior to the vote and ever since. <\/p>\n

For instance, during the Remain campaign, Mr Clarkson joined forces with long-time co-star James May in a pro-EU video.<\/p>\n

Released by the Britain Stronger in Europe campaign, the former Top Gear presenters explained how Leave would supposedly spell disaster for their work duties. <\/p>\n

In another notable instance last year, Mr Clarkson used one of his newspaper columns to complain that Brexiteers “make me want to sit in a gutter and weep.”<\/p>\n

He wrote in The Times in February 2025: “People who voted for Brexit. It\u2019s not so bad if they put their hands up and admit they made a mistake.<\/p>\n

“But if I encounter someone who still thinks it was all a brilliant idea, I get so cross my hair catches fire and my teeth start to itch.”<\/p>\n

He went on to claim that “Brexit hasn\u2019t made our lives better in any way that I can see”, before suggesting long queues at the airport are evidence of its ineffectiveness. <\/p>\n

With the hot weather engulfing Europe once again this summer, Mr Clarkson used this particular stick as one to once again take aim at those who voted Leave a decade ago.<\/p>\n

In a post shared on X on Tuesday, Mr Clarkson swiped: “Brexit enthusiasts: I hope you\u2019re all enjoying the queues at your holiday airports this year.”<\/p>\n

Inevitably, his latest outburst in favour of the EU sparked quite the reaction from fans and critics alike, amassing over 3.2m viewers in less than 24 hours on X.<\/p>\n

Among critics keen to dispute Mr Clarkson’s stance was former MP Michael Fabricant, who hit back: “As Britain was never in Schengen when we were in the EU, we would have had the long lines anyway due to the EU\u2019s incompetence and getting their e-gates to work!”<\/p>\n

Baroness Jacqueline Foster also fired back. “Post Brexit, we never made it difficult for EU citizens to remain in the UK. We allowed \u2018free\u2019 registration to around 5 million people. Nor to travel to the UK, EU & EFTA citizens passed & pass through Passport Control at airports without delay,” she began.<\/p>\n

Baroness Foster continued: “Sadly, even before the introduction of its new scheme, a number of @EUCouncil member states decided to \u2018teach us a lesson\u2019, not all and they\u2019re continuing to do so now. It\u2019s supposed to be what\u2019s called \u2018reciprocity\u2019 but only appears to work one way. Starmer should have played hardball with @EmmanuelMacron @vonderleyen and some others. But he was weak just like our latest @UKLabour PM @andyburnham who\u2019ll be just as bad. I spent 20 years in Brux, trust me.” (sic)<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, political commentator Lee Harris quipped: “Hi Jeremy, I just landed in Greece. Absolutely no queuing. Walked straight through in less than 10 minutes.”<\/p>\n

And a disgruntled X user weighed in: “I\u2019d expect a lefty to say what you\u2019ve just said.”<\/p>\n

There was plenty of support for Mr Clarkson, however, with Dragons’ Den star Deborah Meaden among those adding to the anti-Leave sentiment.<\/p>\n

“And Climate change deniers\u2026 you cindered destinations,” she added, taking a pop at Mr Clarkson along the way.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, one X user was pained to admit they agreed with the Clarkson’s Farm star. “It\u2019s f***ing horrible agreeing with him. Most disconcerting,” they remarked. (sic)<\/p>\n

The former Grand Tour star recently revealed he was in remission after battling prostate cancer over the past year.<\/p>\n

As such, he’s continued to film a sixth season of the hugely successful Clarkson’s Farm, although the scenes to come promise to be difficult to watch.<\/p>\n

He’s already teased that fans will witness a “truly horrifying” scene<\/a> that he recently filmed at Diddly Squat, but he’s also had to contend with an incredibly hot and dry summer.<\/p>\n
