John Stones has verbally agreed to join Inter Milan, according to Sky Sports in Italy, bringing his decade at City<\/a> to an end.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old left City as a free agent at the end of June after ten years at the club. He is now set to sign a two-year deal in Milan, having turned down interest from Arsenal and Chelsea along the way.<\/p>\n

Fabrizio Romano<\/a> says an agreement is already in place for the move to go through, while David Ornstein reports the transfer is on track to be finalised this week. Juventus had also renewed contact with Stones\u2019 camp in recent days, but it is understood Inter pushed hardest to get the deal done.<\/p>\n

Stones made 295 appearances for City after joining from Everton in 2016 for \u00a347.5m, at the time a record fee for an English defender. He won six Premier League titles, the Champions League and two FA Cups during his time at the Etihad, though persistent injury problems limited him to just 16 appearances in his final season.<\/p>\n

His departure closes one of the more understated chapters of City\u2019s recent trophy-laden era, with Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol having long since taken up the senior centre-back positions Stones once held.<\/p>\n
