Manchester United<\/a> have confirmed the surprise exit of Tyler Fredricson, who has joined Lausanne-Sport on a permanent deal. The youngster had been with the Red Devils since a young age, initially joining their ranks at under-nine level. He broke into the first-team picture two seasons ago, making a handful of senior appearances under Ruben Amorim<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, in a move seemingly out of nowhere, the 21-year-old has now left Old Trafford on a permanent basis. He has joined Lausanne-Sport, who are also owned by INEOS<\/a>. This could make it easier for United to re-sign Fredricson in the future if he develops well in Switzerland over the coming years.<\/p>\n

United confirmed the news with an emotional statement, which read<\/a>: “A lifelong Red from south Manchester, he worked diligently while proudly rising through the ranks of our world-famous youth system.<\/p>\n

“The 21-year-old played in every round of our 2022 FA Youth Cup campaign as the side reached the final, before illness prevented him from playing in the showpiece occasion against Nottingham Forest.<\/p>\n

“The defender made his first-team debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers on 20 April 2025 and went on to make further appearances against Brentford, Grimsby Town and Newcastle<\/a> United.<\/p>\n

“Joining the club at under-nine level, Tyler has been a model professional throughout his time with the club and a popular member of our academy squads.<\/p>\n

“His place in United\u2019s history books is also secured as a recipient of the prestigious Denzil Haroun Reserve-Team Player of the Year award in 2025.<\/p>\n

“Lausanne finished ninth in the Swiss Super League last season, and they hope to progress this term following July\u2019s appointment of new head coach Luka Elsner.<\/p>\n
