Sporrans, stags, and shortbread; do these gift-shop images hold us back or bring us forward? I tell that story while interweaving a version of my own life story and the parallels between us. It\u2019s written in Scots spoken word, with original songs in Gaelic. The idea came from a desire to write something epic, something that could tell a big national story and all the other little stories in between.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How would you sell it to audiences in one paragraph?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0Through the\u00a0Shortbread\u00a0Tin\u00a0tells the greatest Scottish story that you\u2019ve probably never heard of.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Do you enjoy\u00a0participating\u00a0in the Fringe? And do you have any moments you particularly remember?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participating in the Fringe is fun, but can be overwhelming if you\u2019re not properly supported. My fondest memory was when I was about 20 years old; I saw a poster looking for a replacement cast member for a Restoration comedy that was running at the Fringe and then going on tour through England. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I got the part and joined the company \u2013 it was all very thrown together but in a good way \u2013 sleeping on people\u2019s floors, flyering our own show, begging people to come, learning a lot along the way \u2013 a great way to experience my first Fringe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What are you looking forward to the most in Edinburgh?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just doing the show every day, meeting new audience members and hopefully entertaining a whole lot of people!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What\u2019s\u00a0next for the show?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The show is part of Made in Scotland, so it would be a dream come true to make some links with companies and organisations in other countries \u2013 I would love to take this bit of Scottish History to the wider world.
