English comedian Emma Davies \u2013 runner-up West End Women\u2019s New Comedian of the Year 2025 and Sketch Off! semi-finalist 2025 \u2013 brings her character comedy show, You Are All Resources, to the Edinburgh Fringe this year. <\/p>\n

\u201cEver wondered whose side HR is really on? Join HR consultant Alllison Pope as she leads Remark Insurance through a workforce restructure. This satirical comedy puts HR under the microscope. Expect questionable professional advice, power dressing and corporate duplicity, with 90s references abound. If you remember Kilroy, work in HR or have had a contretemps with HR, this show is for you.\u201d<\/p>\n

What can you tell us about your show?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The show centres around Head of Human Resources, Alllison Pope. She is the opposite of what an HR professional should be, leaking people\u2019s most private and personal info, discussing very inappropriate topics and giving backwards advice when it comes to navigating office politics. The show takes place at the final staff briefing before staffing cuts are announced, whereby Alllison presents the reasons \u2018at-risk\u2019 groups of people are being let go.<\/p>\n

However, Alllison\u2019s presentation doesn\u2019t go to plan. The show is very, very loosely based on Dickens\u2019 A Christmas Carol, and Alllison is visited by three women all called Carol, each with a different axe to grind. <\/p>\n

What is it about and where did the idea come from?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The idea for the show comes from some personal experiences with HR professionals, workplaces and interview processes where I\u2019ve felt I\u2019ve not been seen or felt unable to thrive, or have never been accepted due to \u2018cultural fit\u2019.\u00a0 I wanted to explore these issues through comedy.<\/p>\n

How would you sell it to audiences in one paragraph?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve ever had any issues with HR or work in HR or have felt overlooked in the workplace, this show is an antidote, finding levity and poking fun at situations that can leave you feeling hopeless and angry.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Do you enjoy participating in the Fringe? And do you have any moments you particularly remember?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve performed in the Fringe in different ways over the years, as part of a company and more recently as a solo performer. I\u2019m looking forward to this year, as I know lots of performers who will be doing their shows with Hoots and am excited as Hoots has expanded into new spaces this year.<\/p>\n

What are you looking forward to the most in Edinburgh?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am looking forward to working on my show and being able to focus on it and really test the material. I am interested to see how it is shaped through the process of performing it every day and then being able to take away those learnings for further development.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s next for the show?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m planning on continuing to develop the show post-fringe.
