First announced in 2020, had it shipped on time in 2022 it would have been the first standalone headset with color passthrough mixed reality to hit the market. But after repeated delays it was beaten to market by Quest Pro, and Lynx still hasn&#8217;t finished <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/lynx-r1-production-an-absolute-mess\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shipping<\/a> to all backers while Quest 3 and Apple Vision Pro shipped in volume in the meantime.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I would be equally pissed if Lynx nextgen ID got leaked so I won&#8217;t share more. I&#8217;m just excited for good new XR HMDs. He also suggests that Lynx and Valve &#8220;share the same suppliers for some components&#8221;, which may be a hint as to how he was apparently able to view the design of Valve&#8217;s next headset.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"kg-bookmark-container\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/valve-deckard-roy-controller-models-steamvr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/p>\n<p>Valve Deckard \u2018Roy\u2019 Controller Models Discovered In SteamVR<\/p>\n<p>Models of Valve Deckard\u2019s \u2018Roy\u2019 controllers were discovered in SteamVR driver files, revealing their design and inputs.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Valve-Deckard-Roy-controller-design-leak-2.png\" alt=\"\" onerror=\"this.style.display = 'none'\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Over the past four years Valve has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/gabe-newell-new-headsets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">repeatedly<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/valve-reaffirms-work-on-new-vr-headset-interview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">confirmed<\/a>\u00a0that it&#8217;s working on a new headset,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/valve-wireless-vr-plans-steam-deck-oled-interview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">strongly hinting<\/a>\u00a0that it will have a focus on wireless streaming from your PC, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/valve-job-vr-headset-deckard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a job listing<\/a>\u00a0mentioned it having inside-out tracking, camera passthrough, environment understanding, eye tracking, and hand tracking. In this time, many references to a Valve headset called &#8220;Deckard&#8221; have been found in the code of SteamVR by VR enthusiast Brad Lynch&#8217;s Discord datamining group.<\/p>\n<p>In November, Lynch&#8217;s team even found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/valve-deckard-roy-controller-models-steamvr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">controller models<\/a> for Deckard&#8217;s &#8216;Roy&#8217; controllers in SteamVR driver files, and in March found references to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/valve-deckard-proof-of-concept-model-resolution-specs-chipset\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a proof of concept model<\/a> having 2K LCD panels and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, though this doesn&#8217;t mean the shipping Deckard will.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"kg-bookmark-container\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/valve-deckard-proof-of-concept-model-resolution-specs-chipset\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/p>\n<p>Could Valve Deckard Use LCD Panels &amp; A Quest-Like Chip?<\/p>\n<p>A Valve Deckard proof of concept model had 2K LCD panels and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, though this doesn\u2019t mean the shipping Deckard will.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Valve-Deckard-patent-feature-4.png\" alt=\"\" onerror=\"this.style.display = 'none'\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There haven&#8217;t been any recent leaks about the design of the Deckard headset itself.
