Leeds United<\/a> were in talks to sign Julian Brandt on a free transfer, but the German has instead opted to go elsewhere.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Whites have been very ambitious this summer and are so far getting what we\u2019re after. Harry Wilson, Tarik Muharemovic, and hopefully James Trafford soon joins them at Elland Road.<\/p>\n

A long-running saga has been whether the club will bring another free transfer to the club in German international Julian Brandt<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Julian Brandt snubs Leeds United for Ajax with transfer confirmation<\/p>\n

Leeds were reportedly seen as one of gthe front-runners to sign Brandt after his emotional exit from Borussia Dortmund this summer.<\/p>\n

It was claimed that Elland Road and the Premier League was his preference<\/a> over a move to fellow suitors Ajax. The Dutch giants could offer European football to Brandt. But, the lure of the \u2018best league in the world\u2019 was claimed to work in our favour.<\/p>\n

However, despite this supposed preference, Brandt has now confirmed his decision with a move to Ajax.<\/p>\n

A three-year contract has been signed with the Amsterdam club, as technical director Jordi Cruyff revealed in their statement<\/a> that talks had been ongoing for months:<\/p>\n

That\u2019s that \u2013 Leeds United to look for alternatives to Julian Brandt<\/p>\n

Well, after all that deliberating, Brandt finally makes his decision. At least it stops Leeds waiting around any longer than we already have.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a shame that all of the supposed preference of moving to Leeds was clearly just bluster to secure a lucrative deal at Ajax is a shame. He would\u2019ve been a really fun signing.<\/p>\n

However, it\u2019s one that isn\u2019t going to leave me losing much sleep. It\u2019s just frustrating that he was using our interest to get himself sorted out nicely by Ajax.<\/p>\n

Good luck to him, our focus is now on signing someone of a likewise technical level to improve our attack.<\/p>\n
