Unveiled by schoolchildren in 2001, the statues were created by artists Tony and Susie Morrow.\" height=\"732\" width=\"960\" data-credit=\"\" data-img=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/000028361774_Unapprovedjpg-JS785204773.jpg\" data-caption=\"There's plenty of culture to enjoy\"   loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/000028361774_Unapprovedjpg-JS785204773.jpg\" role=\"img\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>4<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s plenty of culture to enjoy<\/p>\n<p>But some of the top trending destinations could come as a surprise.<\/p>\n<p>Over a third of Scots are planning to visit a new destination this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/topic\/summer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">summer<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s fastest-growing destinations list is dominated by coastal towns.<\/p>\n<p>And coming in top place in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/topic\/scotland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scotland<\/a> is not popular spots like Glasgow or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/topic\/edinburgh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Edinburgh<\/a> &#8211; but Dundee.<\/p>\n<p>The city has undergone an extensive waterfront regeneration and the addition of the V&amp;A Museum to the banks of the River Tay has spruced up the city of discovery considerably.<\/p>\n<p>But, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/topic\/tripadvisor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TripAdvisor<\/a>, it hasn&#8217;t gone to Dundonians&#8217; heads. They say: &#8220;With plenty of wit and character, the locals are some of the friendliest in the UK.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s also loads to do from learning about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/topic\/science\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a> to visiting historic ships or enjoying the theatres, arts centres, coffee shops and cool bars, as well as walking routes around the city.<\/p>\n<p>Coming in first place across the UK for trending destinations is the village of\u00a0Seaview, on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/topic\/isle-of-wight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Isle of Wight<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Known as one of the island\u2019s more upmarket communities it is frequented by politicians and celebs during the summer months.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s packed with quirky shops, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/topic\/restaurants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">restaurants<\/a> and pubs and has a nearby award-winning distillery, its own nature reserve and a fantastic playpark.<\/p>\n<p>Scotland\u2019s Hidden Gem: Codona\u2019s Named Best Family Day Out at Entertainment Awards<\/p>\n<p>In second place is\u00a0Ingoldmells in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/topic\/lincolnshire\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lincolnshire<\/a>  which is a paradise for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/topic\/families\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">families<\/a> with plenty of holiday parks and caravan sites to choose from.<\/p>\n<p>Around one third of Brits are planning longer-haul travel this summer, with destinations like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/topic\/thailand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thailand<\/a>, Tanzania and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/topic\/brazil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brazil<\/a> trending.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>TOP TRENDING UK SPOTS<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/GettyImages-156357393jpg-JS836017610.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"article__content--intro\">HERE&#8217;s the top 10 fastest growing destinations for 2025:<\/p>\n<p>Seaview, Isle of Wight<\/p>\n<p>Ingoldmells, Lincolnshire<\/p>\n<p>Bamburgh, Northumberland<\/p>\n<p>Hunstanton, Norfolk<\/p>\n<p>Dundee, Scotland<\/p>\n<p>Coventry, West Midlands<\/p>\n<p>Newby Bridge, Cumbria<\/p>\n<p>Lytham St Anne&#8217;s, Lancashire<\/p>\n<p>Bassenthwaite, Cumbria<\/p>\n<p>Llangollen, North Wales<\/p>\n<p>Guzeloba in T\u00fcrkiye is the number one fastest growing destination.
