\n Lorena Wiebes from the Netherlands won her second consecutive stage at the 2026 Women’s Tour de France on Sunday to set a record of seven stage victories in the five-year-old race. <\/p>\n

The 27-year-old burst clear of the pack with 250m remaining of the 147.9km course to take glory.<\/p>\n
She completed the second stage between Aigle and\u00a0 Geneva in three hours, 42 minutes and eight seconds.<\/p>\n
Elisa\u00a0Balsamo was second and Marianne Vos was third.\u00a0The defending champion Pauline Ferrand-Pr\u00e9vot <\/a>finished the second stage in 38th place to lie ninth overall, 20 seconds behind Wiebes.<\/p>\n The end of the stage was tough on Riejanne Markus who led the race alone over the final 39 kilometres before she was reeled in just half a kilometre from the finishing line.<\/p>\n “The girls were chasing full, full gas in the final to bring back Riejanne so it’s even more beautiful to finish it off in the yellow jersey.”<\/p>\n “We were chasing all day’ <\/p>\n “We were chasing all day,” Wiebes added. “In the end I managed to get a clear run and gave it all over the last 250m. I knew that it was up to me to find my own way.<\/p>\n “Winning in yellow makes it for sure special but also because, again, our team worked really hard for it,” Wiebes said.<\/p>\n Wiebes, who rides for the Dutch stable Team SD Worx-Protime<\/a>, won the first stage of the 2026 competition on Saturday.<\/p>\n Niewiadoma wins Women’s Tour de France by just four seconds<\/a><\/p>\n To reach her record-breaking feat, Wiebes won the first stage of the inaugural Women’s Tour de France in 2022. She also took the fifth stage in Bar-le-Duc before crashing out of the race.<\/p>\n There was one stage victory in the 2023 race and two more stage triumphs followed in last year’s race <\/a>before the latest successes.\u00a0<\/p>\n Entry into France <\/p>\n
