Emergency services were called to the scene after revellers were left dangling in mid-air when a fun fair ride broke down in Belfast city centre.<\/p>\n

The incident happened on Sunday afternoon as thousands flocked to Belfast<\/a> city centre to attend the all-Ireland Fleadh.<\/p>\n

The Skyswing ride stopped in mid-flight as passengers were on board at a fair ground along the Dunbar link inside the pedestrianised area, which is closed off for the event.<\/p>\n

It is understood that fire and rescue teams were called and attended the scene.<\/p>\n

However, NIFRS<\/a> was not required to intervene as the fair ground operators managed to bring the passengers down using their own techniques.<\/p>\n

A Belfast City Council spokesperson said: \u201cWe are aware of this incident and understand it has now been managed by the operator. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis funfair is not part of the official Fleadh programme and is not operated by the council.<\/p>\n
