(WKYT) &#8211; The London City Council passed a two-year moratorium on data centers within city limits on Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The council passed the moratorium with a 5-1 vote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">It will be in effect until September 30, 2028, and can be extended by the council for a year after that date.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The council says that the moratorium will allow the city to study the impact that a data center might have on the community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The moratorium was first read at an earlier council meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WKYT.
