{"id":1129070,"date":"2026-08-04T03:12:25","date_gmt":"2026-08-04T03:12:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1129070\/"},"modified":"2026-08-04T03:12:25","modified_gmt":"2026-08-04T03:12:25","slug":"women-say-they-got-pregnant-after-taking-glp-1-drugs-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1129070\/","title":{"rendered":"Women say they got pregnant after taking GLP-1 drugs \u2014 Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Several women have taken to social media to share how they became pregnant after using GLP-1 medications, saying the drugs helped them conceive after years of infertility, although medical experts caution that the drugs are not fertility treatments, ABC News reports.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the women sharing her experience is Molly Orr.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking during an interview on \u201cGood Morning America\u201d aired on Thursday, Orr said she was diagnosed with <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Polyendocrine_metabolic_ovarian_syndrome\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">polycystic ovary syndrome<\/a> (PCOS), a hormonal condition that often affects a woman\u2019s ability to conceive.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Orr, she had previously been informed that she would not be able to become pregnant naturally. After hearing accounts from other women who said GLP-1 medication eased their PCOS symptoms, she decided to begin treatment. About a year later, she discovered she was pregnant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI really didn\u2019t have my hopes up, but when that test turned positive for like, I was ovulating, I was just floored,\u201d Orr said. \u201cI remember getting so excited.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She said the medication provided benefits beyond weight loss.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cJust a medication that not only helped me lose weight \u2013 that\u2019s really hard to do with PCOS \u2013 things that my body wouldn\u2019t do on its own,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Orr\u2019s experience is similar to that of other women.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Areli Ruiz told \u201cGMA\u201d she was diagnosed with secondary infertility after giving birth to her first daughter 17 years earlier. She later started taking a GLP-1 medication and said she conceived eight months afterwards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEight months later I got pregnant. And then that was my first one,\u201d Ruiz said. \u201cI was like, I\u2019m going to get on the GLP again \u2026 got pregnant six months later, did it another time, got pregnant one month after again. So three GLP babies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ruiz said she began hearing from many women with similar experiences after sharing her story on TikTok, with several posting photos of their children in the comment section.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThey\u2019re posting their babies in my comments, my GLP twins, my GLP baby,\u201d Ruiz said. \u201cA lot of them went through infertility, the same exact journey and they have their GLP babies.
